Immunisation
Immunisation
The Kimberley Division of General Practice (KDGP) holds an immunisation portfolio. This mainly consists of monitoring vaccine storage & transportation through cold chain audits, providing support in reporting childhood immunisation and increasing coverage rates across the Kimberley as well as providing a support base along side Kimberley Population Health Unit (KPHU) for immunisation providers in the region.
Cold Chain Audits
KDGP works in partnership with KPHU to ensure that best practice is maintained with vaccine storage and transportation throughout clinics in the Kimberley. This is conducted through various cold chain audits, monitoring vaccine refrigerators, transportation and policies & procedures associated with vaccine storage.
Coverage Rates
KDGP also provides support to sites conducting childhood immunisations to ensure that efficient and timely reporting of immunisations occurs and to ensure that coverage rates of children’s immunisations across the Kimberley is above 90%. Currently, the Kimberley region has an overall coverage rate of approximately 89.6% and is ranked 69 out of 120 divisions.
